through the toughest

it's been a while since ive been up and running, blogging, etc etc
quite busy and everything with school really starting to get crazy!!

it's also been a while since i've felt like myself.

i wonder to myself, where has zara gone?
the truth is, i have no idea.

lately, i've been cruising on an all-time low, as long as i can remember, i cannot remember feeling this way. i feel like im not the patient, persevering, encouraging person i used to be. last week, i felt really burdened and i emailed a friend who i know i can trust. he emailed me back, and shared with me this verse i've found comfort in.

Romans 5:3-5

perseverance. it's hard to keep going and pushing through the toughest when you feel so burdened, when you feel like you're carrying the heaviest load you've ever carried. but we will rejoice in our sufferings... even though i havent rejoiced yet, that time will come

that same night, i read a devo titled: The Power Source

if you think about it, everything you do requires power. i type, and my ittie bittie fingers need energy, while my brain needs to think and that burns a lotta energy too LOLS. and even as you are reading this (i hope people read this? HAHA) you are sitting and breathing and thinking and processing these words and that requires energy. think about what you do in a day. it requires lotsa power to do the stuff you do! where did this power come from though? your muscles, your brain, the food you eat.

" if you're a Christian, you have the power to persevere. you have the power to do right, even when it's hard. you have the power to keep going, when when you're tired. you have the power to work hard at something, even when you feel like quitting. but the power to persevere doesnt come from your muscles- it comes only from God. "

Isaiah 40: 31 says,

"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."

God will give me the power i need when i am tired and worn out. when i feel weak, God can give me the strength to keep going. when im exhausted and feel like giving up, God can help me persevere. all i have to do is ask Him for help.
please pray for me.

challenge yourself: persevere with God's power

It's great you already see the light during these "darker" times!
I will definitely pray for you!
