i have fifth lunch at school everyday, and there are the pros and cons to it.
pro: i have it with my fellow bloggers and loves: Jocelyn, Kristy and Cara.
con: im starving until 1:45 every day
pro: i get to leave school early, sometimes
con: the school is deserted
pro: the school is deserted...
and because i cant think of any more cons,
pro: i get to do my homework
so during fifth, we usually eat the four of us with others sometimes who come along. it's pretty awesome cuz we talk about church and devos and we share stuff, which we dont usually get to do. and if we were to have another lunch together it would be too loud or whatever.
for the past few days, an aquaintance has been sitting with us during lunch. she's been really curious and interested in what we talk about, which is, lately, evangelizing to our school friends. jocelyn has had some interesting stuff to share about and i dunno about you guys, but i've enjoyed listening and expressing opinions and everything.
Our Friend told us that she wants to go to church, and she has gone to fellowship before, but she's not a Christian. she's really interested in all of this Bible/church/Christian stuff, and she's always listening intently to what we have to say and share during lunch. we invited her to fellowship, but tonight she had to work and she lives really far away, even from our school, so from her house to church would be an even longer distance.
today, when jocelyn was talking about her conversation last night with another friend about Christianity, Our Friend listened the entire time, keeping her eyes on Jocelyn... and i could tell she was really taking everything Jocelyn said into consideration. someone said something about being born a sinner, and immediately she asked "whoa wait, what was that you said we were born into sin? what does that mean?" i tried my best to explain why, talking about the garden of eden and adam and eve. though i gotta admit i didnt do such a great job hahaha, but im glad that Kristy and Jocelyn were there to help me with the story. Our Friend had to leave to catch a bus, so it was a short explanation, but im glad that we had a chance to answer her questions.
evangelism. to be honest, i've never had the guts to evangelize to a friend before. in elementary school, most of my friends were Jewish, and i guess religion just wasnt an important part of our friendships. i mentioned before in my testimony, my faith didnt really mean a whole lot to me until i entered high school. it's been hard. i know i've been given opportunities to share the Word with my friends, but i was just, well, too afraid? too self-conscious? too unsure?
Jocelyn, i really admire you for being so brave and obedient and taking your chances by talking to school friends about God and always inviting people to Didomi. you're an inspiration and i hope i'll be able to get to know you more!
challenge yourself: evangelism.
that was a satisfying first REAL post :)
